it is the time of the autumn equinox, the harvest is winding down. the fields are nearly empty, because the crops have been plucked and stored for the coming winter.
mabon is the mid-harvest festival,
and it is when we take a few moments to honor the changing seasons, and to celebrate the second harvest.
on or around september 21st, for many pagen and wiccan traditions it is a time of giving thanks for the things we have,
whether it is abundant crops
or other blessings.
~~~~~~~~
in this book
mabon is like a "witches convention"
that occurs at the beginning.
A richly inventive novel about a centuries-old vampire, a spellbound witch, and the mysterious manuscript that draws them together.
I finished reading the Discovery of Witches and I really enjoyed it it reminds me of the series that I recommended last year by Libby Gray the books are Rebel Angels, The Sweet Far Thing and A Great and Terrible Beauty. You can find these books in the teenage section.
I love the book club Staci, it's been a blast. I appreciate all the work you have put into it. Now onto Shadow of the Night!!
Thanks Penny...I am actually going to do "A great and Terrible Beauty" for February of 2013 beacause of your recommendation:) Thanks for reading along. It has been fun for me and I love being in touch with everyone.
I have LOVED the book club Staci!!! It has brought me back to reading and started my daughter reading without me saying anything. It has been a fun year. Thanks for all your hard work!!!! I am hooked on the Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night. I have read them both twice. Also, equally loved all of the Outlander series. I started with one book and read them all twice. They all get 5 stars from me!
